Joliet West High School Varsity Cheerleaders Head to State Competition
The Joliet West High School Varsity Cheerleaders are headed to the IHSA State Cheerleading Competition after placing 3rd at the Sectional Competition this weekend.
The Joliet West High School Varsity Cheerleaders are headed to the IHSA State Cheerleading Competition after placing 3rd at the Sectional Competition this weekend.
The State Competition will be held at the US Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington, IL on Friday, Feb. 1. JWHS Varsity Cheerleaders will perform at 5:35 pm, and If the team qualifies for the top ten, they will also perform on Feb 2.

“This has been an incredible season so far,” said Amy DiForti, head varsity cheerleading coach. “The cheerleaders have worked extremely hard this year, and I could not have asked for a better group of kids. Words cannot express how proud I am of this team.”
To celebrate the team’s success, the Varsity Cheerleaders
will deliver a special performance on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 4:45 p.m. in the
JWHS small gym. This performance is open to the public and admission is free.

In addition, a special send-off parade will take place at 9:30 a.m. on Feb. 1 and will include the JWHS marching band and Flag Corps.
To support the team at the state competition, Joliet West Athletics will provide a fan bus for Joliet West students. Permission forms can picked up in the Athletic Office and are due by noon on Jan. 31.
