Two Joliet West High School Seniors Receive Full Tuition Scholarships to Brown University

Joliet West High School seniors Guillermo Grimaldo and Jessica Zambrano recently received full tuition scholarships to Brown University in Providence, RI.

Joliet West High School seniors Guillermo Grimaldo and Jessica Zambrano recently received full tuition scholarships to Brown University in Providence, RI.

As a member of the National Honor Society and National French Honor Society, an AP Scholar and an Illinois State Scholar, Grimaldo has excelled in academics during his time at JWHS. In the fall, Grimaldo will begin studying finance and political philosophy at this prestigious university.

Grimaldo has also displayed his leadership skills while enrolled at JWHS as the co-president of the Key Club and the team manager for the Boys Baseball Team. He also spends time helping the community with projects such as the Miracle League, Project Linus and the Walk for Alzheimer’s.

Zambrano plans to study international relations. While enrolled at JWHS, she was a member of the Scholastic Bowl team, Students of Service, National Honor Society and Mu Alpha Theta.

An AP and Illinois State Scholar, Zambrano  excels in music and has earned a National and a District Fine Arts Award of Merit. She has also demonstrated her leadership skills as an officer of the Science Team, president of the Friends of Rachel Club and a leader of Brothers and Sisters in Christ.
