Joliet Township High School art students, Rosybel Landeros and Alejandro Marchan, are finalists in the Illinois Tollway Map Cover Art Contest.

Joliet Township High School art students, Rosybel Landeros and Alejandro Marchan, are finalists in the Illinois Tollway Map Cover Art Contest.   This year's theme is "Remembering our Veterans."  Members of the general public are invited to go online to vote at http://www.illinoistollway.com/news-room/map-cover-art-contest .

The public is invited to vote for their favorite entry now through November 2 in the 2013 Illinois Tollway Map Cover Art Contest sponsored by the Illinois Tollway, Blick Art Materials and U.S. Equities.

High school students in the 12 counties served by the Illinois Tollway were invited to submit original works of art based on this year's contest theme, "Remembering Our Veterans."  The Tollway received 57 entries from 26 schools throughout the region, from Chicago to Rockford.

The top four entries will move on to the next level of judging.  The grand prize winner and three runners-up will be selected by a panel of judges including veterans who work for the Tollway, members of the Tollway Board of Directors and representatives from Blick Art Materials and U.S. Equities.

In 2007, the Tollway renamed Interstate 355 the Veterans Memorial Tollway to honor the men and women who have served our country. This year's contest will honor our military by featuring the theme: Remembering Our Veterans. Our veterans are men and women of all ages and races. They are our neighbors, our parents, our grandparents and our friends.
