Course Content Comes to Life Thanks to Guest Speaker

Lt. Wilk from the Illinois State Police spoke to Joliet West High School students in Kristen Koppers, Kevin Michaels, and Kevin Kusnik’s English and Health classes yesterday. Lt. Wilk spoke about the consequences and dangers of substance abuse, while providing the perspective of a law enforcement officer. Students heard first-hand information from an expert about how every action and choice has a consequence and reaction.

The information covered in the presentation was tied to the district substance abuse Health curriculum and the literary theme of society and crime.

“Presentations like this really speak to our students and make the course content come to life,” said Koppers. “Our students truly benefitted from Wilk’s wisdom and experience.”
