Joliet Central Graduate is Potential SNL Cast Member According to Rolling Stones Magazine

Joliet Central High School alumnus, Tim Baltz, Class of 1999, has spent his years beyond high school following his passion for performing improvisation. A longtime lover of comedy, Baltz has made a career writing for and performing in some of Chicago’s largest improvisation venues.

Baltz recently found himself in the running to become one of Saturday Night Live’s newest cast members.  Although Baltz was not chosen to become a new member of the Saturday Night Live cast, he is listed in Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the  top ten most likely to be cast to Saturday Night Live in the future.  He has also been recognized as being one of “25 Funny People Who Should Get Their Own TV Shows.”

Baltz, a graduate of Loyola University-Chicago, received the 2011 Jeff Award for Best Actor in a Revue, the comedy equivalent of a Tony Award for broadway. He has worked with Second City (a Chicago-based improvisation group) for six years in their touring companies, the ETC Stage and, most recently, completed a run on their Mainstage as actor and writer, acted in Big Ten Network’s Friday Night Tailgate, Shrink (an improvisation based web series), Sonic and U.S. Cellular commercials. He has written for Chicago Sketchfest,TBS Just For Laughs Festival, and served as co-writer for Second City’s Louisville production of It Takes A ‘Ville.
