Joliet West High School HOSA Students Featured in Cystic Fibrosis Newsletter

Student members of the Heath Occupation Students of America Team (HOSA) at Joliet West High School were recently commended by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in their December newsletter. Through a variety of fundraisers, HOSA club members and their sponsor, Mary Spata, raised over $1,500 last year for the foundation’s Greater Illinois Great Strides program. The students also volunteered at the Great Strides Walk held at Pilcher Park last May where they passed out drinks and worked the check points.  The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation thanked them for their hard work and generosity.

“As many of you know, the Greater Illinois Great Strides program has become one of the most successful CF walk programs in the country,” said Senior Development Director Jessica Giarratano.  “Knowing you are beside us every step of the way gives us great confidence that our hope will become a reality. I can't wait for the day when we can say CF stands for Cure Found.”
