Joliet West High School Students Receive High Rankings at National French Contest

Seventy-six students from Joliet West High School recently participated in the National French Contest in March, with several receiving high rankings. At the contest, participants were required to complete a one-hour exam that included listening and multiple choice questions.

For level one, top students from Joliet West were: Sofia Moran, ranking 17th; and Omar Carrillo, ranking 18th.

For level two, top students from Joliet West were: Sean Chapman, ranking 7th; Ismania Deeter, ranking 11th; and Eduardo Barajas, ranking 12th.

For level three, top students from Joliet West were Rafael Alejo, ranking 22nd; Matthew Verive, ranking 23rd; and Martin Sandoval, ranking 24th.

For level four, top students from Joliet West were Mariana Hernandez, ranking 23rd; Ashlee Walaszek. Ranking 24th; and Guillermo Grimaldo, ranking 26th.

All students received prizes and certificates in classroom celebrations. “The hard work of our students was evident throughout the contest,” said Joliet West French teacher, Jo Anne Bratkovich.
