Car Show Details for the Rally, Rock and Race Weekend now Available

Joliet, Ill. — April 11, 2013 — Chicagoland Speedway and Route 66 Raceway today announced details for a car show during the Rally, Rock and Race weekend, three days of NASCAR action, music, and off-road racing, July 19-21. The car show will take place in Champions Park at Chicagoland Speedway on Sunday, July 21, prior to the start of the STP 300.

Fans and car clubs have the opportunity to be a part of the NASCAR race day at Chicagoland Speedway with their classic car on display in front of thousands of fans and an opportunity to win an on-track parade lap during the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup weekend this September. The top five entries will also be awarded a VIP package for the STP 300. 

The five winners will be selected by voting among race fans and car enthusiasts in attendance to determine which classic cars are the Best in Show. The winners will receive access to the drivers’ meeting, Pit and Infield Fan Zone passes, upgrade seats in section A, a track lap and more during Chicagoland Speedway’s September race weekend.

To enter the car show, participants must complete an application online, complete with a photo. The car show will be limited to 200 entries, with entries awarded to participants with the most outstanding applications.  All cars must be street legal, show quality vehicles from 1979 or older to be eligible. Once the 200 entries are chosen, there will be a $30 application fee. Registration opens on Thursday, April 25 and closes on Thursday, May 9.

The Rally, Rock and Race weekend will be headlined by the STP 300 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Sunday, a rare off weekend for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series. Following the STP 300, the future stars of NASCAR will take to the 1.5-mile oval in the ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards. The weekend also features two nights of the Traxxas TORC Series, complete with Baja-style off-road racing at Route 66 Raceway’s dirt oval.
