1 Stabbed, 1 Bricked, 1 Jailed in Joliet

A Francis Street fight left two wounded and one locked up.

A Saturday morning birthday party brawl spilled outside a Francis Street house and ended up with one man stabbed and another bashed in the head with a brick.

Officers pulled up on the party house shortly after 4 a.m. and found a 31-year-old man lying in the street with a stab wound to his torso. They later located a man with a head injury. He had been hit in the head with a brick.

The man in the street had apparently been stabbed in the backyard.

Officers stopped a car nearby on Jackson Street and later were able to identify the driver as the alleged stabber, police said.

The driver, Jose Mosqueda, 27, of 919 Summit St., was charged with aggravated battery and transported to the Will County jail.

The police are searching for another man they believe was involved in the brutal birthday party brawl.
