Bears QB Teams With FBI to Show Off Kid Phone Safety Feature

Caleb Hanie's dropped by the FBI's Chicago headquarters today. Hopefully the Feds can protect him better than the Bears' line.

Fresh off a narrow defeat to the Raiders in his first career start, Caleb Hanie visited the FBI's Chicago headquarters on Tuesday to unveil a new child safety application.

The application is for smart phones and allows parents and guardians to put their child’s safety in their own hands, according to a statement released by the FBI.

Hanie, who replaced the injured Jay Cutler as the starting quarterback in Oakland on Sunday, is but one of many NFL players who have endorsed the National Child Identification Program, said the FBI's statement

"In recognition of his efforts, Hanie will be presented with the 'Service in Public Interest' award from FBI Director Robert H. Mueller, III," during his appearance, the statement said.

The statement made no mention of the FBI working on a quarterback safety application to be used by the Bears.
