Wanted man surrenders

A local man turned himself in at the police station and was charged with domestic battery in connection with an incident from a couple nights prior.

Harry Koerner, 34, of 1109 Shorewood Drive was taken into custody about 9 p.m. and transported to the county jail.

The cops linked Koerner to an alleged crime "in the 1100 block of Shorewood Drive," police said. This was presumably at Koerner's home, but those crafty Shorewood cops weren't saying.

April 23

Driving while from Joliet

A Joliet man tempted fate by straying into Shorewood, only to get pulled over and arrested.

Billy Harris, 40, of 251 S. Center St. was charged with driving while license revoked or suspended and improperly displaying his registration.

Harris was taken into custody during a traffic stop about 11:45 p.m. near the intersection of Route 59 and Black Road.

April 22

Cops: Crooked cashier caught

A Target cashier's skimming scam bought her a theft charge and a court date, police said.

Christyn Zacavish, 20, of 903 Natoma Court in Joliet was arrested at the 1111 Brookforest Ave. store shortly before 1:30 p.m.

The police did not reveal how much money Zacavish supposedly stole, but it was less than $300.

April 20

Another DWJ

The cops caught another Joliet guy allegedly driving around Shorewood without a license or insurance.

Ruben Sanchez, 31, of 607 Broadway was picked up near the corner of Routes 59 and 52 about 5:30 p.m. Sanchez was also taken in on a Kendall County warrant charging him with violating a court order.

To make matters worse for Sanchez, the Shorewood cops turned him over to agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

One more time — DWJ

A Joliet woman failed to make it out of Shorewood without catching a traffic case.

April Fleetwood, 31, of 250 Marble St. was arrested during a traffic stop about 3 p.m. near the intersection of Route 59 and Seil Road.

Fleetwood was charged with driving while license revoked, driving without insurance, and not wearing her seatbelt.

April 19

Telephone tough girl

A Joliet woman was charged with threatening someone during a telephone call.

Vanessa Guzman, 22, of 319 Herkimer St. was arrested about 10 a.m.

The police will not release the identity of who Guzman supposedly threatened, or what it is Guzman allegedly said during the frightening phone call, but it was probably somebody from Shorewood.
