Cops: Near Collision Leads to Arrests

Sheriff's deputies nabbed a pair of Shorewood men after one narrowly missed crashing into their cruiser, police said.

A man nearly rammed a squad car head-on and was arrested in his driveway after Will County deputies tailed him home, police said.

Ryan House, 26, of 1014 Callaway Drive W. was taken into custody in the driveway of his home about midnight Wednesday.

House was charged with driving under the influence, improper lane usage, disregarding a stop sign, illegal transportation of alcohol, and driving with a license that expired more than a year ago.

Another man, Rishawn House, 28, also of 1014 Callaway Drive W., was arrested as well. Rishawn House was charged with resisting arrest, but the police provided no information on the circumstances leading to him being taken into custody.

The police also did not specify whether Rishawn House was riding with Ryan House or if he was already at the Callaway Drive residence when the deputies arrived.

The police did say a county squad car was heading north on River Road when a southbound vehicle driven by Ryan House approached.

Ryan House's vehicle crossed the centerline and narrowly missed colliding with the cop car, police said. House's car then sped away and blew through the four-way stop at Seil Road.

The deputies reportedly followed Ryan House home and arrested him after he pulled into his driveway.

A search of the car Ryan House was driving turned up a can of Four Loko malt liquor, police said, which resulted in his getting hit with the illegal transportation of alcohol charge.

Both Houses were taken to the Will County jail, and both were released on bond Thursday.
