Cops: Shorewood Girls Gone Wild and Go to Jail

A pair of Parkside Drive women landed in the county jail after an after and alcohol-fueled early morning dustup, according to the police.

The Shorewood cops collared a pair of local women after a drunken brawl at a neighbor's house early Tuesday, police said.

Melissa Dew-Anderson, 31, of 1926 Parkside Drive and Tammy Mackowiak, 41, of 1920 Parkside Drive were both jailed in connection with the disturbance.

Dew-Anderson was charged with resisting or obstructing police, disorderly conduct and violating the conditions of her bond, according to jail records. Will County court files did not show that Dew-Anderson has an active criminal case here for which she has posted bond.

Mackowiak was locked up on a Will County warrant for failing to appear in court, said Shorewood Police Chief Robert Puleo. Court files showed no active cases in Will County for Mackowiak.

Puleo said the two women were socializing at a neighbor's home on Parkside Drive when things turned tense in the early morning hours. The bad feelings apparently got worse and the police were called to investigate a disturbance inside the residence.

Some of the combatants were injured in the struggle but chose not to be taken to the hospital, the chief said.

"There were some marks on people but they refused treatment," he said.

Asked what was at the root of the dispute, Puleo answered, "Alcohol."

Dew-Anderson and Mackowiak, who according to jail records are both unemployed, remained in custody Tuesday afternoon. Mackowiak's bond was listed at $1,120. Dew-Anderson bond was not provided.
