A recent spate of car burglaries has prompted the to tell residents to lock their vehicles.
"The Shorewood Police Department is currently investigating a number of burglary to motor vehicles," according to an alert broadcast Monday afternoon. "In most instances the vehicle's doors were left unsecured while the car was parked outside. Do not be a victim, lock your vehicle when left unattended."
