Swerving right into the hands of the Shorewood police

A Joliet man caught the cops' attention when he swerved in traffic, then got them really interested when they allegedly found drugs in his car.

Skyler Shoemaker, 19, of 950 Surrey Court was pulled over for swerving in traffic about 1 a.m. near the intersection of Route 52 and Route 59. He was then arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug equipment, possession of alcohol by a minor, illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor, driving without a valid license, and making an improper turn at an intersection.

Shoemaker was taken to the county jail.

Wanted woman surrenders to Shorewood police

A Crest Hill woman with a warrant out for her arrest surrendered to the law at the police station.

Jessica Doszak, 19, of 1436 Pioneer Road turned herself in about 9:30 p.m. and was arrested on a Will County warrant charging her with possession of a controlled substance.

Doszak avoided a trip to jail by posting bond.
