Family Brawl Ends with ER Visit, Arrest: Police

Brossie McKinley allegedly punched and choked his sister after the woman complained that she didn't like how he treated her son, Joliet police said.

A disagreement that started with a sister criticizing her brother for allegedly mistreating her son ended in a family brawl, a trip to the emergency room and an arrest for aggravated domestic battery, Joliet police said.

Cmdr. Al Roechner said Brossie McKinley, 34, 1851 Asbury Circle Drive, Joliet, was babysitting his sister's 8-year-old son Friday. When the sister returned at about 4:30 p.m., she learned McKinley had poked the boy in the head in an effort to get the child to listen to him, which she objected to, Roechner said.

McKinley, apparently angered by the criticism, threw the woman into a chair, punched her in the head and began to strangle her, he said. The sister fled to the kitchen, where he began choking her again, he said.

In an effort to stop the attack, another family member jumped on McKinley's back, grabbed a statue and struck him in the head, Roechner said. That gave the sister enough time to flee the house and call the police, he said.

McKinley sustained a deep cut to the head that required stitches at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.

He was arrested, charged with two counts of aggravated domestic battery and one count of domestic battery and taken to the Will County jail.

funny thing is, this guys sister is probably a mean motor-scooter and instigated the fight... but, she is a she and that's all the court will care about. And the kid probably deserved a slap up-side the head... people haven't done that to their children when needed for quite some time... youth these days show the lack of discipline... no respect for anything or anyone....
