Fast and Loose Shorewood Police Blotter

The police say they got one guy for speeding and another who wasn't wearing a seat belt.

A Minooka man was arrested after the police pulled him over and reportedly found that neither he nor anyone else in his car was wearing a seat belt.

Corey Jones, 25, of 604 Chestnut Ridge took a ticket for the seat belt violation and also was charged with driving with a suspended license, police said.

Jones was pulled over just before 5 p.m. at the Nicor building on Cottage Street. The police did not specify how many passengers were riding with Jones, but said not one of them was wearing a seat belt.

Allegedly fast but not furious

A Joliet man was pulled over for speeding and arrested for not having a driver's license, police said.

Roberto Martinez, 20, of 504 E. Benton St. was taken into custody during a 1 a.m. traffic stop near the intersection of Route 59 and Channahon Street.

Martinez was released after posting bond.
