At least he got a place to stay

A homeless man asking the for a little help got a lift all the way to the county jail.

Larry Babineau, 45, was arrested on a Vermilion County warrant charging him with disorderly conduct.

Babineau, who according to jail records is homeless but resides around Joliet, showed up in seeking "transient assistance" about 8:15 p.m.

But before he could get his transient assistance, "officers learned Babineau had a warrant," police said.

Babineau was transported from Shorewood to the Will County jail in Joliet.

Domestic arrest

A local man was jailed on a domestic battery charge.

Saul Nunez, 34, of 821 Diamond Head Drive W. was taken into custody at his home about 8 p.m.

Nunez was transported to the Will County jail.
