Nightmare on Hickory Street: An Inside View to a Horrific Double Murder

Patch obtained police reports detailing what allegedly transpired in the Hickory Street house in Joliet where two young men were choked to death in January.

Joliet Police and prosecutors have kept a tight lid on what happened in the Hickory Street home of Alisa Massaro the night two men were strangled and then left on the floor while their accused killers partied and played games.

Patch obtained the police reports detailing what the two men and two women charged in the double murder supposedly told officers and detectives after the bodies of Eric Glover and Terrance Rankins were found lifeless and hooded with plastic bags.

This is the first in a series of stories about the tale those reports tell.

I don't think people do these things because they know they wont be put to death, I doubt very much that thoughts for their future are at the forefront when they're commiting these acts. I'm sure these individuals might think differently about their actions after 20 years behind bars. Looking at the bigger picture, I don't think an eye for an eye is the answer, We proclaim to live in a civilsed society, who makes us judge, jury and executioner?

Guess what if their dead we don't have to feed them, educate them, give them medical care or pay for appeals. I vote death penalty. Old saying "If you play in the mud your going to get dirty" Guess what their dirty.

People confuse informing the public (like a good newspaper is supposed to do) with glorifying...smh

Here is the cold hard fact. The death penalty was never designed to be a deterrent. Never. It was designed to be a PUNISHMENT for the most heinous of crimes. It has been through years of the media and liberal thinkers that the idea of it being a deterrent was it's initial idea. Just as 6 years for selling drugs is a PUNISHMENT. After many years working in the penal system there is also nothing called rehabilitation....another fancy word used to make themselves feel better.

Rather than the death penalty or life in jail, these brats should be forced to pay restitution the rest of their lives. They should wear iron collars and leg bands and be taken out into the community and forced to tell people over and over, what they've done. They should be at the mercy of the victims' families and they should work the rest of their lives to feed the hungry and clothe the poor. Make them work until they finally drop.
