Seat belt stop

The cops pulled over a Joliet man for driving around without wearing his seat belt and found out he didn't have a valid license either, said.

Mario Garcia, 30, of 7017 Monmouth Drive was stopped shortly before midnight in the parking lot of the on Brook Forest Avenue.

Garcia was arrested on a charge of driving while license suspended and cited for allegedly failing to signal.

Garcia was released from custody after posting bond.

The (allegedly) unbelted

An Aurora man went to jail after the cops stopped the car he was riding in because someone wasn't wearing a seat belt, police said.

Michael Burns, 31, of 3014 Bar Harbour Road was taken into custody about 1:30 p.m. at the BP Amoco station on East Jefferson Street.

Burns was wanted on a Kendall County warrant charging him with traffic offenses, police said.

Burns was taken to the Will County jail in Joliet.
