Hollywood Shorewood Rewind

It was all about showbiz this week.

Shorewood is famous for a lot of things.

It's the home not just to a (ha ha Plainfield), but to also a Chili's and a Target.

And now Shorewoodland is the movie-making capital of the Midwest.

That's right, it is, now that Shorewood Patch Editor Joe Hosey is being portrayed in a movie by world-renown actor Charlie Koznick.

You may remember Koznick from such television programs as Medium, Grey's Anatomy, or The Ghost Whisperer, or maybe you don't. But in a few months you can remember him for playing me in The Drew Peterson Story, a Lifetime movie based on my book, Fatal Vows: The Tragic Wives of Sergeant Drew Peterson, which is still available for purchase on Amazon.

And it's not just the movie that's turning Shorewood into the new Tinseltown. The slogan for next weekend's Shorewood Crossroads Festival is "Shorewood Goes Hollywood," and it will feature me, Joe Hosey, who apparently will be sitting in a dunk tank Saturday afternoon. So we have that to look forward to.

Well, that was pretty much it for the week. At least as far as all the important stuff. But we'll throw in a few other odds and ends just for the sake of it and call it the SHOREWOOD REWIND.

Monday

Everybody finally got tired of 'Just Go With It'

It took a full four weeks, but Shorewoodland finally had enough of the Adam Sandler romantic comedy (we assume it's a romantic comedy, we didn't actually see it) Just Go With It. Rango claimed this week's top spot in the Redbox list of Shorewood's favorite movie rentals. Just Go With It didn't even make the top 10 this time.

Tuesday

Dam kayakers rescued from river

The Shorewood and Will County Forest Preserve police some unlucky kayakers out of the DuPage River after their crafts capsized. The boaters were riding over a dam when near-disaster struck.

Wednesday

Stay golden, DJ boy

A Shorewood DJ was arrested outside a Mokena bar for allegedly huffing paint. DJ Donald Duddleston's lips, chin, hands, arms and body were reportedly covered in gold spray paint when he was arrested.

Thursday

Actor unfriendly?

We asked Charlie Koznick to be our Facebook friend. He hasn't gotten back to us yet.
