Woman stuck with needle charge

A Wilmington woman riding in a car the cops stopped for an undisclosed "equipment violation" was caught carrying drugs and a needle, police said.

Kayla Stricklin, 18, of 602 Van Buren St. was nabbed during a 7 p.m. traffic stop near the intersection of Interstate 55 and Seil Road.

Stricklin was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of a hypodermic needle and possession of drug equipment. The cops transported her to the county jail, where she remains in custody.

The police did not reveal what sort of controlled substance Stricklin supposedly possessed.

Wanted man collared after domestic dispute

A local man wanted on a drug charge in Cook County apparently caught the cops' attention during a domestic dispute, according to police.

John Peretti, 21, of 1920 Parkside Drive was taken into custody shortly after 6 p.m. He was charged with domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic battery.

Peretti was also taken in on a Cook County warrant charging him with possession of a controlled substance. He was transported to the county jail, where he remains in custody.

Police jail Joliet man, withhold information on arrest

A Joliet man wanted on a traffic warrant was jailed by the Shorewood police, who will release no information on the arrest.

According to jail records, Cody Shields, 18, of 3649 Terrance Ferry Drive was booked into custody on a warrant charging he failed to appear in court. According to court records, Shields missed a court date on a traffic case.

According to police staff, the report detailing Shields' arrest was still being worked on nearly a week after he was locked up.

Wanted at Wendy's

The cops reportedly collared a wanted man at the Wendy's on Brookforest Avenue.

William Harris, 21, of 24950 Heritage Oaks Drive in Plainfield was arrested shortly before 8 p.m. He was taken into custody on a DuPage County warrant charging him with possession of cannabis and a Will County warrant for a charge of burglary.
