Jerry Sandusky's Wife Responsible, Too: Mom Talk

How could Dottie Sandusky not know what was happening under her nose?

She admits the basement wasn't soundproof and she would have heard the boys yell as they were repeatedly raped. A jury just said it believed those victims and convicted Jerry Sandusky of 45 counts of sexual abuse. So where was Dottie Sandusky?

I don't believe for one second that she was oblivious to what was going on in her home ... even with her own son. Matt Sandusky told the Today Show Tuesday that he, too, was victimized.

She says the fact that she didn't hear the screams means nothing happened. Bull crap. It happened. She knew.

As moms, if there were a thunder storm and the TV were blaring, we could still hear our children sneeze. Any parent with half a brain would know if that degree of tragedy were going on in her house for so many years. There is no doubt in my mind that she knew, or at very least had an inkling.

Dottie Sandusky is also to blame for what happened to those young men, and likely others. There simply aren't enough bad words to describe Jerry Sandsusky. We will have to settle for convicted pedophile and sex offender. The stories were so tragically gruesome that I couldn't stomach following the story in the news.

An analogy I once heard is that when a spouse cheats, it's like hearing a distant bell; you are aware of it, but not in an immediate sense. That is true. When a child screams, however, the sound is chillingly present. Living with this serial pedophile could never be mistaken for other forms of oblivion.

To the young victims, 12 jurors just said they believe you. I believe you. The world believes you. Dottie seems to be the only one who doesn't believe you. That's because she is to blame, too.

Proper, legal justice isn't finished yet. Let's hope the prosecutors take a solid look at Dottie, too. But that would take a whole brain.

This is not over yet. This is just step one. You have two Penn St. administrators going to stand trial for pergury. You have the Federal Trial,of Sandusky for taking a young boy out of state(texas) and rape him. Then you will have the Civil Trials, and all defendants, which is going to cost Penn St. Millions, and millions of dollars. In the federal trial, you will have the mass coverup unfold, from prosecuters,to the seating Govenor of Pennsylvannia. The campus police, and of course the real massive coverup by St. Joe Pa,who lied and did nothing for years, all for power and millions and millions of dollars. Penn St. will probably be facing the death paenalty from the big ten. Especially since two asistants coach's testified that showering with young boys at Penn St. was a normal practice there. What a bunch of sickos

I agree with annee: Dottie Sandusky was trying to protect the lifestyle she's always known- "Stand By Your Man." Ruth, where'd the heck did you get the idea of Dottie being a victim? Tim, if it's any consolation to you, check out what happened in Philadelphia last week. Now the following has nothing to do with the Sandusky case (or maybe it does, considering we're talking about a "mom," & this is "Mom Talk"): Beginning Friday, July 6, & through Sunday, July 29, the U.S. National Pilgrim Virgin Mother of Fatima Statue will tour the Joliet Diocese. This Statue was blessed by Pope Paul VI in 1967 & has traveled the country since then promoting the Fatima Message & that this message is even now more important than ever. All are invited to come & see the Statue & listen to its Custodian, Bill Sockey, speak on Mary & her message. For more information, contact 815-725-5427, 630-301-0948, or email jkachall2003@yahoo.com

Where was Joe Paterno and the others who knew what was going on. Where is morality in this country. Sandusky could have been stopped but no one did anything.

Evil triumphs when good men do nothing. That is what happened here. That is what has happened so many times in child sex abuse cases. Whether it's a teacher, a relative, a clergy person or coach - it seems everyone around that person never "sees" what is going on. Dottie is hardly the only who looked the other way, and she certainly won't be the last. We all need to work to protect children who can't protect themsleves and we all need to understand that anyone and I do mean anyone can be an abuser. And that abusers will look for easy prey.
