Mailman Robbed of iPhone, Cash, Police Say

The armed robbery occurred at about 1:40 p.m. Thursday in the St. Pat's neighborhood, according to Joliet police reports.

A Joliet postal carrier was robbed of his iPhone and $13 when a man threatened him with a gun while he was delivering mail Thursday afternoon in the St. Pat's neighborhood.

The victim told Joliet police that he was confronted by the suspect while at a residence in the 0 to 100 block of North Cagwin Avenue at about 1:40 p.m., Cmdr. Al Roechner said.

He described the suspect as a slender black man standing about 6 feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds, Roecher said. He had short braids and was wearing a black hat and a jacket with yellow and green words.

Police were able to use one of the the iPhone's apps to trace and recover the device in an area near McDonough and Monroe streets, where it had been placed inside a sock and thrown away, Roechner said.

yep... see plenty of cussing on here, and name calling... seems to only get deleted if I use profanity... even if it's not mean spirited but rather to show frustration.

St. Pats is not the east side... but yes, they all should be allowed to carry anyhow.

again your spouting off at the mouth because you refuse to look at the facts, no statistics don't go in to the individual but it gives you a broader sense of races and crime rates among races..You think I hate but you don't know me...Please just do yourself a favor and look into what I say you will be surprised at what you find
