Paintball Ref Once More in the Line of Fire

A Joliet man jailed twice in July — once for an arrest in Shorewood — was back in the county slam again Wednesday.

A paintball referee arrested in Shorewood for allegedly speeding away from the police while carrying drugs in July, then jailed again later that month, was locked up once more on Wednesday. Thomas Jay Green, 19, of 924 Vine St. in Joliet was nabbed in his own hometown this time.Green was arrested early Wednesday morning on a charge of burglary to a motor vehicle, police said. He was arrested near the corner of Peacock and Bluejay lanes on the city's far west side. Exactly a month ago, Green ran afoul of the Shorewood cops and ended up getting arrested on charges of  possession of a controlled substance, driving on a revoked or suspended license, fleeing or attempting to elude police, and speeding.Fifteen days after that, the county cops popped Green on charges of possession of cannabis, possession of drug paraphernalia and driving under the influence.On each of the three occasion's Green was booked into the Will County Adult Detention Facility in the last two months, jail staff listed his occupation as "paintball ref."
