The Shorewood cops were making all sorts of arrests this week.

Feb. 22

Wacky weed, warrants

A Joliet man with a heavily tattooed neck ran afoul of the law after he was pulled over about 11:30 p.m. near the corner of Black Road and Route 59.

Damon Wallace, 21, of 1426 William St. was jailed on charges of driving with one headlight, driving while license suspended, driving without insurance, possession of cannabis, and possession of drug equipment.

Domestic incident

The cops carted a local man off to jail on a domestic battery charge about 10:30 p.m.

Torrence Daniels, 49, of 1106 Butterfield Circle was arrested at his home.

Another domestic incident

In this one the police said the guy did not just domestically batter somebody, but then tried to interfere with the reporting of it.

William Langford, 40, of 300 Ravinia Drive was arrested about 4:30 p.m. at his home and hauled down to the county jail on charges of domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of domestic violence.

Allegedly equipped for drugs

A sharp-eyed cop spotted an expired registration sticker, pulled over the car it was on, and landed a big one when he arrested the driver on a charge of possession of drug equipment.

Felix Velasquez, 26, of 1354 W. Marion St. in Joliet was picked up about 12:10 a.m. at the intersection of the Interstate 55  frontage road and Jefferson Street.

Velasquez got off with a warning for the registration sticker but took a charge for the alleged drug equipment.

Forbidden guest

A Crest Hill man was jailed after he was found at a Shorewood house he was court-ordered to stay away from.

Ian Boyd, 25, of 1330 Cedardwood Drive was arrested about 12:30 a.m. in the 300 block of Garden Terrace.

Spare tire taken

Someone stole the spare tire from a vehicle parked in the 700 block of South Raven Road.

While the theft was discovered on Feb. 17, the tire apparently could have been taken any time in the two weeks prior.

feb. 14

Lighter lifted

A local woman allegedly filched a Zippo from a convenience store back in January.

Jenny Macias, 33, of 135 Turtle St. in Shorewood was charged with stealing a Zippo from the 7-Eleven at 101 Cottage St.

Macias allegedly stole the lighter on Jan. 19.

Wanted man

A Lockport man wanted in McLean County on a contempt charge was captured about 10 a.m.

The police gave an address for the arrested man — 52-year-old Robert Salerno — of 21342 W. Division St. in Lockport. The police also said they arrested Salerno at 19405 N.W. Frontage Road in Shorewood, which is a residence he is listed as living at.

feb. 11

Bright light

A Joliet man driving with his brights on turned out to be drunk, police said.

Robert Pearce, 24, of 3436 Buck Ave. was pulled over shortly before 1 a.m. at the intersection of the Interstate 55 frontage road and Jefferson Street.

Pearce was charged with driving under the influence, failing to dim his headlights, speeding, improper lane usage and driving without insurance.
