Police: Plainfield Academy Student Attacked Staff Member

Arrests and incidents reported by Plainfield police, other agencies.

Jan. 15

Diamond J. Maxwell, 19, of the 11000 block of Independence Drive, Plainfield, was arrested by Plainfield police and taken to the Will County jail after allegedly assaulting a staff member at Plainfield Academy. Sgt. Mike Fisher said Maxwell "got into a minor scuffle with a staff member" Monday at the campus. The incident was handled by Plainfield Academy's school resource officer, Fisher said. Because the teen is legally an adult, he was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Center, where he was booked on a charge of aggravated battery in a public place, police said. According to Fisher, the teacher was not injured in the scuffle. As of Wednesday, Maxwell was being held in lieu of $7,500 bail.

This is funny. Typical Patch "reporting". Headline says "Student attacks staff member" yet the first paragraph says "got into a minor scuffle". This rag uses the oldest tricks in the book and still can't get attention from most people in a small town like Plainfield. You guys are really, really bad at your hobby.

At 19 years old, why are we still trying to educate him? We are wasting good tax dollars on someone who doesn't want to help himself.
