Sheriff Poised to Launch Rhyming Traffic Operations

The Will County Sheriff's Department has a couple traffic enforcement operations in store, and they both have catchy names.

The Will County Sheriff's Office announced plans for two new traffic enforcement initiatives. And they both rhyme!

Get ready for "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" and "Click It or Ticket," coming soon to a traffic checkpoint near you.

"Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" focuses on impaired driving and "Click It or Ticket" takes aim at late-night safety belt enforcement. Both programs will be in effect over the holidays.

The sheriff's department also shared some driving safety tips. Here they are:

  • Plan ahead! Designate a sober driver before going out and give that person your keys.
  • If you are impaired, call a taxi, use mass transit or call a sober friend/family member to get you home safe.
  • Use your community's designated driver program.  Promptly report impaired drivers you see on the road to law enforcement.
  • Always wear your safety belt and make sure all passengers are buckled up!  It is your best defense against an impaired driver.
