Speedway spectacle

A intoxicated Joliet man repeatedly crashed his car into another vehicle, said.

Abel Ortiz, 31, of 914 Sheila Drive was arrested about 6:40 p.m. at the Speedway service station at 900 Brookforest Drive.

Ortiz was taken to the Will County jail and booked on charges of driving under the influence, disorderly conduct and driving without insurance.

Dec. 10 Again

Alarmed

A Steger man was jailed after the cops ran into him while checking out a burglary alarm and found he was wanted in Cook County, police said.

Marcus Thigpen, 31, of 26 W. 35th St. was taken into custody just before 1 p.m. on a warrant charging him with driving while license suspended.

The police said they were checking out a residential burglary alarm at 24708 W. Park River Lane when they caught Thigpen.

Thigpen was transported to the Will County jail.

Bamm-Bamm

An ex-con on parole clubbed another man in the head with a beer bottle at the West Jefferson Street bar Bedrocks.

Dwight Musson, 32, of 214 Ravinia Drive in was arrested about 1:45 a.m. at the 700 W. Jefferson St. tavern.

Musson was taken to the Will County jail and booked on a charge of aggravated battery.

Musson was released from prison in September. He did time for driving with a revoked or suspended license, aggravated fleeing from police and possessing a stolen vehicle.

Dec. 3

Middle of the road

A local woman was arrested after drunkenly stopping in the middle of a major Shorewood intersection, police said.

Jodi Freeman, 41, of 305 Savoy Drive was taken into custody about 1:45 a.m.

Officers picked up Freeman after she was spotted behind the wheel of a car stopped at the intersection of Route 59 and Seil Road, police said.

Freeman was charged with driving under the influence and improper lane usage. She was released after posting bond.
