Derek H. Wilson was apprehended by Crest Hill police following an incident Wednesday night at Chaoz Sports Lounge.

A 23-year-old Shorewood man was booked on a felony battery charge after he struck another man in the back of the head with a glass at Chaoz Sports Lounge in Crest Hill on Wednesday night, according to Crest Hill Police Department Deputy Chief Brad Hertzmann.

Derek H. Wilson, 23, of 1804 Parkside Drive, Shorewood, was apprehended by Crest Hill police officers after they received a call of a battery that had just occured inside the bar—located at 20631 Renwick Road, Crest Hill—at 10:50 p.m. on Wednesday, Hertzmann said.

"When the officers responded, the offender—Derek Wilson—was already being detained by a bouncer and maybe some other individuals," Hertzmann said. "What happened is Derek Wilson met another individual at the bar that evening. At some point in time, he became angry and struck the victim in the back of the head with a glass, causing injury to the victim."

Hertzmann said a 33-year-old Plainfield man was transported to a local hospital following the incident, the extent of his injuries unknown at this time. Wilson was taken to the Will County Adult Detention Facility. He was awaiting a hearing on Thursday (Aug. 15) to determine his bond.
