Shorewood police officers and Will County deputies both responded to a burglar alarm at the Troy Baseball League concession stand at 21961 S. River Road.

The crooks had already taken off, but the cops found evidence that they had tried to force their way into the stand.

A window was broken, police said, and the locking mechanisms in three metal garage doors had been damaged.

Still, the would-be burglars apparently failed to abscond with any property, police said.
