Slowpoke Police Blotter

The Shorewood cops don't just get you when you're speeding, they get you when you're slowing too.

Sept. 7

He's a little slow

The Shorewood cops pulled over a Minooka man for driving too slow and popped him for possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia, police said.

Adam Sheikh, 18, of 1309 Shannon Court was stopped by a cop for allegedly driving under the minimum speed about 1 a.m. on Route 52 and, ironically, Turtle Street.

Sheikh was hit with charges of possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia, and on top of that was cited for "minimum speed requirement," police said.

A 17-year-old Minooka girl riding with Sheikh was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and violating her curfew.

The girl was released to the custody of one of her parents. Sheikh posted bond and went on his way, no doubt slowly.

Sept. 9

Wanted man hassled at home

Shorewood officers failed to find the domestic disturbance they were looking for on Parkside Drive but still arrested a resident when they found out he was wanted on a Will County warrant, police said.

Bryan Rudd, 29, of 1960 Parkside Drive was taken into custody shortly after 11 p.m. and released after he posted bond.

Rudd was arrested on a warrant charging him with failing to appear in court for an "unlicensed" case, police said.

Sept. 10

Cops: Cal City man's registration light out

A Shorewood officer pulled over an out-of-towner's car after noticing the rear registration light was out and arrested the driver for tooling around with a suspended license, police said.

Anthony Jamerson, 23, of 25 155th Place in Calumet City was stopped shortly before 4 a.m. near the intersection of Route 59 and Route 52.

The police said they pulled over Jamerson because he was "observed not having required rear registration lighting."

The police also said Jamerson's driver's license was suspended.
