Traffic stop

Two Joliet teens were arrested during a 4:30 p.m. traffic stop near the intersection of Route 52 and Grove Street

Eduardo Martinez, 19, of 606 Second Ave. and Diana Luna, 19, of 227 Pleasant St., were both taken into custody.

Martinez was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and Luna was charged with obstructing justice and not wearing her seat belt.

Both Martinez and Luna were released after posting bond.

Jan. 13

Another traffic stop

A Frankfort man was caught holding hypodermic syringes after the cops pulled him over for improperly using a lane, said.

Richard Sweders, 34, 8335 Chestnut Court was taken into custody during a traffic stop shortly before 9 p.m. near the intersection of Route 59 and Route 52.

Sweders was charged with possession of drug equipment and possession of hypodermic syringes. He was released after posting bond.

Jan. 13 Again

Traffic Stop III The Return of the Traffic Stop

A Plainfield man was pulled over and arrested near the junction of Interstate 55 and Route 52 about 11:30 a.m.

Jimmy Phillips, 20, of 1901 Crestview Drive was charged with driving while license suspended, possession of drug equipment and driving without insurance.

Phillips was released after posting bond.

Jan. 9

Just another traffic stop

A man was charged with drunken driving during a traffic stop near the corner of Parkshore Drive and Ridge Drive.

Hossein Rafiei, 58, of 511 Shorewood Drive also was ticketed for improper lane usage and driving without insurance after he was pulled over for driving erratically about 10:30 p.m., police said.

Rafiei was released from custody after posting bond.
