Joliet man caught driving in Shorewood

A vigilant Shorewood cop spotted a Joliet man driving in town, pulled him over and took him into custody.

Timothy Baker, 36, of 404 Hillside Road was arrested shortly after 7:30 a.m. near the corner of Route 52 and Route 59. He was charged with driving while license revoked or suspended, driving without insurance, and driving without a valid registration.

Baker was carted off to the county jail.

Cops quiet on why Joliet man jailed

A Joliet man was locked up in the county jail and the Shorewood police will not say why.

According to jail records, Michael Gant, 54, of 1223 Buffalo St. was booked into custody on May 9 on a charge of retail theft.

The Shorewood police said they were still preparing reports on Gant's arrest and did not release any information on what he supposedly stole or from whom he supposedly took it.

Gant, who according to jail records is a barber by trade, remains in custody.

Reefer madness

The Shorewood police said officers collared a quartet of teenagers who purportedly possessed pot and drug paraphernalia.

The two 17-year-olds and two 16-year-olds were picked up near the corner of Vertin Boulevard and Wildflower Court about 7:15 p.m. They were all charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment, then released to the custody of their parents.

May 6

Peotonian popped

A wanted man from Peotone went to the wrong town when he ventured into Shorewood.

John Miaczynski, 22, of 9425 W. Barr Road was arrested on the Interstate 55 frontage road near Jefferson Street shortly before 11 p.m.

Miaczynski reportedly was wanted on a county warrant charging him with driving while license revoked or suspended.

Miaczynski was taken to the county jail.

It's a great country, except for the south

An Alabama man was jailed on a charge of domestic battery.

Charles Miller, 29, of Sheffield, AL, was picked up shortly before 5:30 p.m.

The police provided absolutely no details about Miller's arrest or what it is he supposedly did besides giving the time he was taken into custody and revealing that it happened somewhere in the 100 block of East Jefferson Street.

May 5

Another Joliet man nabbed in Shorewood

A Joliet man spotted near the intersection of Route 52 and Route 59 was taken into custody and locked up in the county jail on a warrant.

Allen Partyka, 53, of 30 N. Broadway was taken in on a warrant charging him with criminal trespass.
