A Minooka woman was arrested for allegedly getting her hands on some drugs she wasn't supposed to have.

Rebecca Stell, 28, of 1370 Burns Lane was picked up about 3:15 p.m. at the 1155 W. Jefferson St. CVS and hauled down to the Will County jail in Joliet.

Here's the Shorewood Police Department's account of what happened:

"Officers responded for a report of a female unlawfully acquiring a controlled substance. Stell was arrested for unlawful acquisition of a controlled substance and transported to the WCADF."

Wanted woman

The police captured a local woman wanted on a county warrant. Kathleen Corcoran, 44, of 504 Shorewood Drive was arrested at her home about 8 p.m.

Corcoran was taken in on a warrant charging her with driving under the influence. She was transported to the county jail.

Joliet man jailed

Police investigating a report of a panhandler came across a Joliet man and arrested him on a county warrant.

Anthony Pleasant, 24, of 1405 Brown Ave. was taken into custody on a warrant charging him with retail theft. He was arrested shortly after noon near the corner of Bronk and Black roads.

Pleasant was taken to the county jail.

June 18

Cops: Plainfield pothead popped

A Plainfield teen was charged with carrying marijuana after the police pulled him over near the intersection of Jefferson Street and River Road.

The 16-year-old was tooling around without a front license plate and was stopped about 3 a.m., police said. The teen was charged with driving without a valid license, not having a front plate, possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment.

He was released to one of his parents.

June 5

Wrecked

Officers happening upon a car crash smelled alcohol on a Joliet man and arrested him, police said.

Matthew Lee, 24, of 1619 Addleman St. was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of drugs and following too closely. Lee was arrested shortly after 3 a.m. near the intersection of Jefferson Street and Interstate 55.
