Allegedly left scene of accident, stuck at scene of arrest

A wanted Joliet woman was nabbed during a 4:30 p.m. traffic stop at the corner of Route 59 and Vertin Boulevard.

Quinn Callender, 29, of 1406 Spring Oak Drive was arrested on a county warrant charging her with leaving the scene of an accident.

Callender was taken to the county jail.

Another traffic stop

The cops pulled over a Lemont man for a "traffic signal violation" and figured out he was driving with a suspended license, police said.

Anthony Cutler, 29, of 1205 Whitney Lane was caught shortly after 3 a.m. near the corner of Route 59 and Black Road.

Cops too quick

The police said a Joliet man was speeding through town, but he wasn't going fast enough to get away from the Shorewood cops.

Robert Hamilton, 21, of 909 Summit St. was charged with speeding, reckless driving, and possession of drug equipment.

Hamilton was arrested during a traffic stop just before 2 a.m. at Route 52 and Mary Street.

All turned around

The cops charged a Plainfield man with drunken driving after they noticed him allegedly driving in the wrong direction.

Richard Werges, 45, of 13405 S. Blackstone Lane was arrested about 7:30 p.m. at the Interstate 55 ramp at Route 52.

Werges was charged with driving under the influence and driving the wrong way on a roadway.

Cops: Violence on Vertin

A local woman was charged with domestic battery in connection with an incident at her home.

Amy Junkas, 39, of 1010 Vertin Blvd. was arrested about 5:40 p.m.

Junkas was taken to the county jail, where the staff listed her occupation as "homemaker."

Shorewood police pick off another one

Yet another traffic stop led to the arrest of a Joliet resident.

Melissa Khan, 38, of 2114 Oak Leaf St. was taken into custody on a charge of driving while license suspended.

Khan was pulled over about 1:15 p.m. near the corner of Route 52 and Route 59.
