Troy FD to Burn Down Home, Garage in Shorewood Saturday

A controlled burn is scheduled to start at 9 a.m.

The Troy Fire Department has announced it will conduct a controlled burn-down on a house on Mound Road in Shorewood on Saturday.

According to officials, the burn will be done in conjunction with Troy's fire academy, burning down the home and garage starting at 9 a.m.

The home is located on Mount Road west of the railroad tracks on the village's western border.

That building in the photo looks like one of the 2 spiffy new fully staffed firehouses we taxpayers have to support in this one-horse town -HEY- IT IS! And to think- just a few years ago S-Wood had a volunteer fire dept. I guess it's easy to blow through other people's $ when it's not your own.

No kidding...seemed to be a BETTER department as well when they were volunteer. Had far less total loses on structures, unlike these guys. Every fire I have heard/read about in Shorewood since they took over, has been a complete loss/uninhabitable.

But hey, at least they'll get this one right...as long as other structures aren't too close lol

they send every truck to respond to every little mickey mouse call to pad their "emergency response #s" to make it look good plus they send out a bill for their "services rendered" even though they already get a lot of tax $.
