The bridge that a couple of the above posters are talking about, I totally agree, the speed limit is 45 on that bridge and even if your doing 55 people and semi's are on your bumper. It's ridiculous!!!!!!! I really wish the SP would patrol over there more. Hope nobody was injured beyond a recovery, will praying for the people involved.

Here is the real story as I was driving behind the small pickup truck. The pickup had a problem and should not have been on the road! The pickup was passing the semi at 70+, there was a loud thumping noise which I could hear in my car. The shocks or rear axle was jumping around. Clearly, the driver should have pulled his broke truck over, instead decided to drive at a high rate of speed taking our lives in his hands. I knew this noise was not right so I got out of the way and passed him before parts started flying at me. Just as I got around him, he swerved into the left lane and then lost control and was sideways into the right lane. He then proceeded to roll the truck several times into the grass and weeds toward the baseball fields. I called 911. The semi pulled over, possibly because debris may have hit his truck or to help. He was not the cause of this accident! The 2 guys in the pickup chose their fate by not pulling over. English may not have been their first language to be politically correct.

The odds of getting caught and ticketed for speeding on an Illinois state highway, Tollway or Interstate are 1 in 20,000. With odds like this, why comply with the speed laws? That's why everybody speeds. No fear of getting caught!

I piss of other drivers by doing only 15 MPH over the limit and pass no one! The game of the road now days is just to pass some one no matter how fast the guy ahead of you is going. Anybody who gets pulled over for speeding has a good excuse... "everybody else is speeding!" And they're right! Everybody IS but only a very small percentage get caught. This is why states are looking to pass "nanny laws" to install speed violation cameras. You ask for this every time you think you need to do 20 MPH and more over the limit. What's your big freaking hurry anyway?
