Two men were shot Thursday night while standing on the back porch of a home in Joliet Township, according to the Will County Sheriff's Department.

No motive is known for the attack, which happened at about 9:45 p.m. at 617 Algonquin, near Briggs Street and Maple Road/Route 6, department spokeswoman Kathy Hoffmeyer said.

One victim, a 45-year-old man, was shot three times in the right leg and twice in the left, Hoffmeyer said. The other, a 19-year-old friend of the first victim's son, was shot once in the right hand. Both men live at the Algonquin house, she said.

The victims were transported to Silver Cross Hospital by the East Joliet Fire Department; the injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, Hoffmeyer said.

Neither man was unable to identify the shooter other than to say it was a man and that he was on foot, she said.
