The Shorewood cops wacked some weed, police said.

420 — Yeah right. Not in Shorewood

A blown stop sign led to three men getting arrested on drug charges, said.

Christopher Shanine, 20, of 21005 S. Benjamin Drive in was pulled over about midnight near the intersection of Kaylee Street and Shorewood Lane for allegedly disobeying a stop sign.

And to make things even worse for Shanine, not only did he take a ticket for the stop sign, he got arrested on charges of possession of cannabis and possession of drug equipment.

And in addition to Shanine, two other men in the car also got hit with the pot and drug equipment charges. Joseph Dale, 18, of 1002 Ranchwood Drive in Shorewood and Anthony Andrews, 23, of 4160 N. Natchez Ave. in Chicago were the unfortunate pair.

Shanine, Dale and Andrews all were released from custody after posting bond. But the whole thing must still have been a bummer.

Crashed and burned

A Joliet man's bad day got worse when the cops arrested him after he got into an accident, police said.

George Nichtula, 34, of 936 Leawood Drive was arrested about 3:30 p.m. near the intersection of Channahon Street and Oak Court.

Officers were called to the location after an accident was reported. After they got there, they arrested Nichtula on charges of driving under the influence, driving without insurance, and failing to reduce speed to avoid an accident.

Nichtula was released from custody after posting bond.
