A wanted Joliet man surrendered to the authorities at the station.

Turmand Durden, 34, of 6917 Grantham Drive turned himself in about 10:30 p.m. and was arrested on a DuPage County warrant charging him with contempt of court.

Durden was released from custody after he posted bond.

Seat belt sorrow

A Plainfield man was jailed after a cop spotted him driving without a seat belt, police said.

Kenyarde Williams, 32, of 5410 Maha Court was arrested during an 8 a.m. traffic stop near the intersection of Hamilton Street and Vertin Boulevard.

Williams was taken into custody on a Will County warrant charging him with driving while license suspended. He was transported to Joliet and booked into the county jail.
