Woman Busted in Raid Netting Big Drug Stash

The Will County Cooperative Police Assistance Team recovered more than 200 grams each of pot and cocaine and 300-plus hydrocodone pills, Sgt. Wayne Ladd said.

A Joliet woman who was running a drug-selling business out of her house was arrested early Wednesday morning by the Will County Cooperative Police Assistance Team.

A tip led police to start watching Brenda Ann Patterson's 1207 Dearborn St. residence about a week ago, said Illinois State Police Sgt. Wayne Ladd, who oversees the CPAT unit. A raid was executed with a search warrant Wednesday by eight or nine officers, including several from the Joliet Police Department.

Inside, police found 240 grams of cocaine, 215 grams of cannabis, more than 332 hydrocodone pills and $1,073 in cash, Ladd said.

Patterson, 51, was described as "uncooperative." Ladd said he did not know is the arrest would lead to any other arrests.

Patterson is being held in the Will County jail, where records indicate she was arrested in November 2009 on charges of driving under the influence and possession of a controlled substance and cannabis.
