Bertino-Tarrant Hosts Legislative Meeting in Shorewood

Senator Jennifer Bertino-Tarrant (D-Shorewood) will be holding a town hall meeting to discuss legislative issues on Thursday, March 13. The meeting is scheduled for 6 to 8 p.m. at Shorewood Village Hall, One Towne Center Blvd.

Town hall meetings give members of the community an opportunity to meet with their legislators face-to-face to discuss pending legislation, state government issues and community concerns.

“A lot of important pieces of legislation passed the General Assembly last year and we have quite a few new issues that we are facing this year,” Senator Bertino-Tarrant said.  “I want to give residents the opportunity to voice their opinions on many of these important topics.”

Some of the issues that Bertino-Tarrant expects community to weigh-in on are the expiration or extension of the current income tax rate, the proposed progressive income tax and the proposed minimum wage hike.

“If members of the community are willing to take time out of their day to attend a town hall meeting, I want it to be as informative and worthwhile as possible,” Bertino-Tarrant continued.

The town hall meeting is open to the public.  Senator Bertino-Tarrant encourages anyone with questions or concerns to come join her for a candid conversation about state and local government issues.
