Divas Gets August Award From Tom Cross

The Shorewood salon and spa was honored in part for its work helping cancer and hospice patients.

Rep. Tom Cross, R-Oswego, and his Ovation to Business Advisory Committee awarded August’s Ovation to Business honors to Divas Salon & Spa.

The salon and spa has not only been in business for more than a decade in Shorewood, it has also been serving the community in very special ways.

“In addition to their regular business and services, not many people may know that the owners and staff at Divas go above and beyond to serve clients who are struggling with diseases like cancer or serving hospice patients in their homes,” said Cross. “That shows remarkable character and sense of community and we are pleased to present them with the Ovation to Business award today.”

In addition to serving patients in their homes and at the salon, Divas’ owners Judy Tomasino and Angie Margliano find their relationship with Hospice most rewarding. They frequently contribute to Hospice events through donations or gift baskets for fundraisers. They say that this experience gives a deeper meaning to what they do.

“We feel honored to provide a little light in the day for a Hospice patient,” said Tomasino. “Employees often jump at the chance to converse with and make a patient feel beautiful.  It’s very rewarding.”
