Patch and Shorewood Police spar about the public's right to know.

The Shorewood Police Department denied the public’s right to know most of the details of the case when they partially responded to Patch’s Freedom Of Information Request with a mere fraction of the documents. Here’s what happened, and more, in Shorewood Rewind:

Flag on the field
Under the advice of counsel, Shorewood refused to release the majority of the details of the police report and file of the Wolfson murder. Village Attorney David Silverman, who coincidently was the Shorewood cop who processed the scene, said the department should keep mum.
