Library Schedules Several Saturday Meet-And-Greets to Discuss New Building

A staff member and a Shorewood-Troy Library trustee will be at the library a couple of hours each Saturday to provide information.

The Shorewood-Troy Library is hosting a series of informal meet-and-greets to take questions, gain input, and explain the layout of the potential new building, according to officials.

The meet-and-greets will be held on the following dates:

  • 10 a.m. to noon Feb. 9
  • 1 to 3 p.m. Feb. 16
  • 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 23
  • 1 to 3 p.m. March 9
  • 3 to 5 p.m. March 16
  • 10 a.m. to noon March 23
  • 1 to 3 p.m. April 6

Residents in the Shorewood-Troy Library District will have to vote in April whether or not they want to see their taxes go up for the purpose of building a new library

The proposed library will be located near the Shorewood Village Hall. It will be an estimated 47,500 square feet. The estimated total cost for the new building, which includes the cost of construction, furniture, fixtures and fees, is $21 million.
