Manley Sponsors Earth Day Poster Contest

Deadline to enter is April 21.

Submitted by the office of State Rep. Natalie Manley (D-Joliet):

To celebrate youth art and promote environmental awareness, state Rep. Natalie Manley, D-Joliet, announced her annual Earth Day Poster Contest for students in kindergarten through sixth grade.

“As spring approaches, it is important that we encourage children to learn more about protecting our environment,” Manley said. “I hope parents and teachers will encourage their young artists to participate, and I look forward to displaying the winning poster in my district office.”

Students are encouraged to enter poster designs that creatively celebrate Earth Day, nature or animals. Students are also encouraged to reflect this year’s theme, “All the Ways We Can Recycle,” in their design.

Submissions will be accepted through April 21st, and can be delivered or mailed to Manley’s district office, located at 2701 Black Road, Suite 201 in Joliet. One winner’s entry will be chosen to be framed and displayed in her district office.

“Will County has been working on several green construction projects, and I hope we can collaborate on more eco-friendly, job creating projects as well,” Manley said. “My poster contest allows children to engage creatively, learning about crucial environmental issues that need to be taken seriously in order to ensure a safe planet for future generations.”
