Not Without My Chihuahua!
A Joliet Township Animal Control officer lost his job last week but he's keeping the Chihuahua he was afraid his bosses wanted to kill, says the Herald-News.
They could take his job away but they couldn't get his Chihuahua.
Embattled Joliet Township Animal Control Officer Bryan Jones is keeping the Chihuahua he absconded with and refused to return for fear it would be put to sleep, the Herald-News reported.
Jones was fired last week for his allegedly illicit involvement with the wanted Chihuahua.

The Herald-News had earlier reported that Joliet Township Supervisor Dan Vera was making noise about demanding the return of Chihuahua, but he apparently backed off today.
"Township Supervisor Dan Vera met with the township’s attorney, Franklin Burkey, on Monday morning to talk about their options," according to the Herald-News Story, which featured some quotes from Burkey:

“Our position at this point is not to pursue the return of the dog. We feel he will take good care of the dog,” said Burkey.
“He has the dog, we’re not going to have a back and forth on it,” Burkey said. “We’re going to bring it to an end.”
The Herald-News said Jones was both "relieved" and "excited" when he learned he was going to get to keep the Chihuahua.
