Plainfield Parents Suing Village of Shorewood For Daughter's Sled Crash

A Plainfield couple's 2009 lawsuit against the village of Shorewood was up in court last week but remains unresolved.

A Plainfield couple is going after the for $50,000—and possibly much more—as payback for injuries suffered by their daughter while she was sledding in .

Jon and Kristy Mahon filed the lawsuit in January 2009 and claim their daughter, Jessica, sustained "serious personal and pecuniary injuries" in a January 2008 sledding mishap.

The lawsuit does not detail the daughter's injuries or provide her age. She is described as a "minor child."

According to the lawsuit, Jessica crashed into a sign at the bottom of the Four Seasons Park sled hill.

The matter was in court last week but was sent back for additional case management. A return date was set for March.

The Mahons are seeking $50,000 from Shorewood, plus the the cost of their legal expenses for the past three years.
