Shorewood, AT&T Squash Bug

The Village of Shorewood's website works again for AT&T U-verse customers.

Whatever it was preventing AT&T U-verse customers from accessing the website, it's preventing them no longer.

Village Administrator Jeff Fiegenschuh confirmed that the problem plaguing the village's website for more than three months has been remedied.

Village leaders and AT&T technical engineers conferred about the Internet outage several times in recent months. Mayor Rick Chapman said representatives from the telecommunications giant were "mystified" by the glitch blacking out AT&T U-verse customers, but the mayor said everyone was in agreement that the fault was on Att&T's end and not on the part of the village.

But AT&T's workers apparently unraveled the mystery and got customers back on line with Shorewood's site, which provides a wealth of information to residents, as well as online bill-paying service and the option to sign up for email alerts.
